[ quote of the day]

Anarchism is founded on the observation that since few men are wise enough to rule themselves, even fewer are wise enough to rule others.

Internet partly to blame for your lack of close friends

A close friend is one you could tell anything, and their response is "how can I help?"

Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens' What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

- Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, 1957.

[ AAUAUAUGGUGUGH]

Here is a picture of my arm:

Note that at this point, it's mostly healed.

UPDATE:

I cleaned it out a little bit more, and removed what I can only describe as a giant puss booger.

There's now a hole clear into my arm.

Here's a zoomed out shot of my arm. Notice how swollen it is.

UPDATE #2:
Also notice the striking resemblence to this picture, which is of the floor in our auditorium from about a year ago:

[ too easy]

“The man shouted, ‘God will save me, if he exists,’ lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions,” the official said.

“A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery.”

[ CAPTAIN COPYRIGHT]

Canada has started a Captain Copyright website to educate kids about copyright laws.

Be sure to read through the Captain Copyright comic.

shamelessly stolen comment from slashdot:

"We have a daughter due in July. In a few years I imagine she'll ask 'Daddy... who's Captain Copyright?' and I'll say 'Sweetie, he's like God.' She'll reply 'What do you mean, Daddy, all knowing, all powerful and something to be in awe of?' 'No dear,' I'll reply, 'a make-believe thing people in power use against the masses to keep them scared.'"
