So today I built a guillotine. Had it all planned out and everything, and started making it, and realized something important:
I can't do anything.
Simple tasks, like screwing together two pieces of wood, took way too long. Partially because the drill I was using was way too fast/powerful for screws, partially because the wood was crappy, and partially because I couldn't find a single decent drill bit. So maybe it wasn't my fault.... but it still took forever, and I hurt myself an unneccessarily large amount of times.
After that I made a "blade" out of cardboard that goes up and down. Easy, no big deal. Cut the cardboard. Put it in the guillotine. Works fine.
So then I cover it in aluminum foil so it doesn't say "Pizza Hut" on the back.
Suddenly, it doesn't work. At all. Half of it gets caught and it turns sideways and sticks and/or falls out all together. So it takes me another good hour just to get the damn blade working.
Although now that I look back on it it only took me maybe a total of two hours. That's really not bad.
Of course, it's pretty big and heavy because of the shitty pressure-treated wood we happened to have lying around (it has abestos in it... weee!) so I don't even know how I'm going to get it into the world room. I'll probably just leave it in my car and go get it fourth period.
So really, my main point is that I can do things, it just takes me longer than normal people.
